Trendstorming
Trendstorming is an innovative method that aims to build awareness among employees and involve them in the strategic vision of their organisation.
Through playful, interactive workshops, participants are encouraged to identify the emerging trends in their sector and to think creatively about how those trends can be used to create added value for their organisation. Employees become key players in the future of their organisation, contributing to its growth and its success.
I designed the game “Trendstorming” to overcome various obstacles to innovation that I have identified in the professional world. For example, according to an Ifop study, although 85% of executives consider innovation to be essential, only 10% of company time is actually spent on it. Recent research by Right.com also showed that although 54% of employees share their innovative ideas, barely 12% of those ideas are genuinely taken into account.
These figures convinced me that there is an unmet need around innovation and employee engagement. With that in mind, I set out to build interest in innovation across the whole organisation while strengthening the commitment of employees to propose their ideas and make them real. That is how “Trendstorming” came about, a distinctive experience that invites employees to picture the future of their organisation by exploring emerging trends and considering practical applications. Trendstorming encourages interdisciplinary collaboration, open communication and collective creativity, and it gives value to individual contributions.

Absorb trends before your competitors do
Trendstorming is a method designed to close the gap between the importance business leaders give to innovation and the time and resources they actually put into it. Created in response to telling statistics about the lack of commitment to innovation, Trendstorming sets out to raise interest in innovation across the whole business and to encourage active participation from employees in proposing and delivering new ideas.
The Trendstorming experience is centred on raising the “Trendability” of the business, meaning its ability to identify emerging trends and build them effectively into its strategy and its operations. The process encourages employees to use their curiosity to look for future trends and to think through concrete ways of applying them inside their organisation. It supports interdisciplinary collaboration, transparent communication and collective creativity. By valuing individual contributions and strengthening team spirit, Trendstorming creates a sense of community and raises employee engagement, which is essential for innovation to succeed.
Using Trendstorming
Higher employee engagement
Trendstorming turns employees into players in the company strategy. By involving them directly in spotting trends and finding innovative solutions, you let them feel valued and responsible for the future of the business. That translates into greater engagement, stronger loyalty and better performance at work.
More creativity and more innovation
Trendstorming is built to stimulate creativity and innovation. By encouraging your people to think creatively about how to use the trends they have identified, you unlock their capacity to innovate. That can lead to new market opportunities, to improvements in your existing products or services, or even to entirely new offers. By nurturing an environment where innovation is valued, you also raise the satisfaction and the engagement of your people.
Stronger team spirit
Trendstorming builds a better understanding of everyone’s roles and responsibilities and helps break down any organisational silos. Teams become more aware of the challenges and the opportunities facing other parts of the business. It also encourages collective creativity. By working together to identify trends and propose solutions, employees learn to combine their ideas and innovate as a team. That leads to more creative and more complete solutions than any one person could produce alone.
Building adaptability and agility
Trendstorming is a group activity that encourages collaboration and teamwork. By working together to identify trends and propose solutions, your people learn to value each other’s perspectives and contributions. That strengthens the bonds between team members, improves communication and supports a more collaborative and inclusive company culture. In the end, it can lead to better team performance and greater employee satisfaction.
